Sarasota, FL – Today the Southern Kingfish Association (SKA) announced Sea Pro Boats as their ‘Official 2016 Open Class Partner’. Sea Pro Boat’s has upped the stakes by offering another prize boat to SKA anglers.  Their continued support and involvement in the 2016 Tournament Trail solidifies a National Championship Grand Prize structure never offered before in SKA history.

Sea Pro has already committed to providing a 239 CC for the SKA Small Boat Class Champion, and is now offering an additional Sea Pro 239 CC boat to be used as the SKA’s Open Class First Place Prize.  Qualifying teams in both the Small Boat and Open Class will have the opportunity to win this $89,995 vessel as their Grand Prize.

“I think the (SKA’s) series of fun and competitive tournaments is hugely important for the marine industry and fishing community to attract people and keep them interested in saltwater fishing,” Sea Pro Boat, Owner, Jimmy Hancock said. “The SKA does an amazing job and Sea Pro is proud to be a part of it!” 

A total of three boats will be award at the 2016 Mercury SKA National Championship: two Sea Pro 239 CC (one for the Open Class champion and one for the Small Boat Class champion), as well as a 17’ Bohemian from Bonefish Boatworks for the Single Engine Class champion. Each vessel will be equipped with a Mercury Motor and a Loadmaster Aluminum Trailer.

This year’s, Mercury SKA National Championship will be held in Fort Pierce, FL on November 7-13, 2016. The National Championship serves as the finale to the SKA’s 2016 Mercury Tournament Trail. Top teams from nine regional divisions will travel to Ft. Pierce, FL and compete for the coveted title of National Champion within their boat class.  Teams that qualify will also have a chance to participate in a free, no entry fee ‘Pre-Game Bash for Cash’ event with guaranteed cash payouts presented by Mercury.  This event marks the 26^th Anniversary Celebration of the Southern Kingfish Association’s inception in 1991.
