There will be a mandatory 45 mph speed limit on the Intracoastal for the first five miles. All posted areas must be observed. At 6:30 all Class of 23 boats will be given the green light to go fishing on VHF channel 72. Five minutes later all Open Class boats will be given the go ahead. (Providing there is sufficient daylight) This is done in the interest of safety. Please keep your eyes open for all watercraft both in the Intracoastal Waterway and on the open water. SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!

WE ARE ASKING THAT ALL WRAPPED BOATS AND SPONSORED BOATS USE THE OCEAN START AS WE WILL HAVE A HELICOPTER IN THE AIR SHOOTING BOATS FOR THIS YEARS “FISHIN THE TRAIL” TELEVISION SHOW AND SPONSOR COMMERCIALS.

CHECK IN:
Scales will open at 2PM at Harbour Pointe Park. Returning to the weigh in after fishing via the Intracoastal Waterway have no speed limits except where there are posted limits. There will be a check in boat by the dock by the South Causeway Bridge beginning at 3 PM. Before that, just come to the south end of the weigh in dock. Have your fish ready for a photograph, (WE ONLY WANT A PHOTO OF YOUR TEAM HOLDING UP ONE FISH, then one person comes to the scale and the boat leaves the dock. When you see your angler on the north end of the dock, pick him or her up. All boats must return to the tournament site by 4:30 PM and be checked in at the committee dock. Line up single file from the weigh in dock south toward the Causeway Bridge. The committee boat will fall in line behind the last boat at 4:30 PM.
*** Remember if you run the Intercoastal from the north back to the tournament site you will have to go by the weigh in dock, back to the South Causeway bridge to check in with the check in boat!

BETWEEN 4:00 PM AND UNTIL THE LAST BOAT WEIGHS IS OUR BUSIEST TIME OF THE EVENT. PLEASE REMAIN IN SINGLE FILE. THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM OUT IN THE CHANNEL TO LINE UP. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS ON VHF CHANNEL 72 AND EVERYTHING WILL GO VERY SMOOTHLY.

BAIT BOATS AND THE PURCHASE OF BAITS:
Yes you can purchase bait however you must do this before you check out.  Suggest if you order bait, tell the bait man to bring his boat to the end of the causeway for you to pick up. Otherwise you have to move toward to the inlet till you find the boat, get your bait, then come back to check out, all at idle speed.
