PRO PAYOFF BIGGEST IN ASSOCIATION’S HISTORY!

When it was announced that the SKA was about to get some competition it really came as no surprise. However we were under the gun to come up with some more pay out money. We then found out that Yamaha was going to offer some contingency money in the other trail. But Yamaha was not about to give up on the SKA. After all they had a lot of great customers and friendships formed over the past few years. You also have to understand that Yamaha’s biggest customer is the company producing the other trail. They did what they had to do but came thru with us also. So here’s the new pay out…

2005 PAYOUT BASED ON 100 BOATS!
1. $40,000
2. $18,000
3. $13,000
4. $12,000
5. $ 8,000
6. $ 7,000
7. $ 6,000
8. $ 4,500
9. $ 3,500
10. $ 3,000
11. $ 2,750
12. $ 2,500
13. $ 2,000
14. $ 1,500
15. $ 1,250

$125,000 Plus Raymarine Electronics for the winner of each event.

When you factor in the local event we piggyback with, you can see you have the makings for an excellent possibility of a great payday. Last year we had teams win over $100,000 when you add in the local event’s payouts. Plus you get to fish any brand of boat or motor you wish. Then we factor in the end-of-the-year bonus of $35,000-- $20,000 to the winner, $10,000 for second, plus $5,000 for third. It doesn’t end there. We’re working on some special contingencies also. So far we have Donzi boats and Contender boats who will each give away a boat, motor, and trailer package to anyone winning “Angler of the Year” honors in one of their brands. And we’re still working.

If you were one of the boats going to the ‘04 Nationals, then you are qualified to fish the Pros. If you did not receive a Pro invitation, please call the office at 904-819-0360 and we’ll make sure you get one right away. You have until the first tournament in Fort Pierce to register.

There are some benefits that go with the Pro status, like getting a nod to the Nationals providing you fish the events. Next you receive a National ranking number which certainly helps with sponsors. But there is a down side to it also. First, when you register to fish the series you not only make a commitment to the SKA and your sponsors, but also to the other teams fishing. You’re in for all five events. Then there’s the money. It is estimated that it will cost you about $22,000 to fish the series, not including time off work. But looking at the prize structure, it doesn’t take a college grad to figure out that if you finish in the money for a couple of events, you can break even or even make money. Plus you are now fishing against the best in the country. Remember that two rookies (first year fishing the Pros) won events in ‘04. It’s what you call EXTREME FISHING at its best!
