TURKEY IS 2005 SKA MERCURY TOURNAMENT TRAIL
NATIONAL CHAMPION! Ft.
Pierce, FL--April 23, 2006--Rick
Smith and the Wild Turkey team take home
the coveted National Champion title to Brunswick,
Georgia today. On Day One they brought a
hefty 53.59 to the scales and braved the
less than perfect weather on Saturday to
back it up with an even better 55.66. The
2005 winning aggregate is a whopping 109.25
pounds.
Taking the number two spot is Howard Poe's
Kill-N-Me. They found a 47.98 on Day One
and a similar 47.30 on Day Two for a 95.28
aggregate. Poe hails from Darien, Georgia.
David Ballard's Iron Man from Georgetown,
South Carolina takes third with a 43.22
on day one, a 32.41 on day two totalling
75.63.
MISTER STANMAN IS 2005 CLASS OF
23' NATIONAL CHAMPION!
Stan Jarusinski and team showed up many
of the open class boats with a great 82.38
aggregate to take the 2005 Class of 23'

the second spot at the end of day one. Then
they went right back out on day two and

Ft.
Pierce, FL--April 22, 2006--When
the last Day One fish was weighed yesterday,
Ernie Diloreti's Donna's Worry had a 5.61lb.
lead over Rick Smith's Wild Turkey. Three
fish in the 50s came to the scales: Donna's
Worry - 59.20, Wild Turkey - 53.59, and
R-Rated - 50.18. Seven boats weighed fish
in the 40s and 25 had fish in the 30-pound
range. Since this is a two-fish aggregate
tournament, the pressure is on all boats
to bring a fish to the scales today. We
overheard that Diloreti was fishing away
from the other packs of anglers, so anyone
who saw the spot could be over there today.
In the Class of 23, Richard Geiger's Wave
Buster found a 48.21 to top the Day One
chart. Second was Stan Jarusinski on the
Mr. Stanman with a 42.47. Third place was
Big Fishin' captained by Scott Harding with
a 38.74.
"It's really a wide open field because
it's a two-fish aggregate," said Jack
Holmes, managing partner of the SKA. "The
ones we need to watch are those who had
fish in the 30s and can pair them up today.
Reports are the bite is on good off Jupiter."

| Ft. Pierce, FL-- April
21, 2006, 1:00 PM--The scales don't
open for another hour, but there are two boats
at the dock ready to weigh what we all assume
to be good fish. Donna's Worry showed up right
at noon with R-Rated following about a half
hour later. Autumn Damon brought in R-Rated's
fish and, until the guys all started nodding
to each other, didn't realize she had a good
one. She was excited and nervous to angle
such an important catch. To see the weights
of these and other fish check the points section
soon after weigh-in begins at 2pm today. Points
are slated to be updated every 15 minutes.

| April 21, 2006. Ft. Pierce, FL--Members
continued to register right up until last
night's captain's meeting at 7 o'clock. When
Loreen Berlin, SKA membership director, made
the final tally 272 boats had registered.
177 in the Open Class and 95 in the Class
of 23'. Boats lined up for check-out this
morning beginning at 5:30. The Class of 23'
got a five-minute head start to get out of
the inlet before the bigger boats powered
up to make the run to that certain spot that
will hopefully give up the big fish today.
But the real test in this Championship is
being able to back it up tomorrow. |
| Ft. Pierce, FL-- April
20, 2006-- The SKA National Championship
kicked off as teams began registration prior
to the Captain's meeting. JaxWraps' Chuck
Lewis was on hand taking names for the drawing
for a free boat wrap which will take place
during Saturday's weigh-in. Also, Popeye's
Chicken was under the tent serving up free
chicken and biscuits to teams courtesy of
Ft. Pierce. Stay tuned as the 2005 National
Championship heats up this weekend. |

| Ft. Pierce,
FL--April 19, 2006--Last night the
city of Fort Pierce once again welcomed Southern
Kingfish Association anglers since
the regularly scheduled SKA National Championship
in November 2005 was postponed due to rough
seas. A street fest kicked off downtown at
5 o’clock complete with live music,
food and merchandise vendors, and inflatable
slides for the kids. Banners throughout the
city convey a warm welcome to SKA fisherman.
At 7 o’clock, nearly 80 gamblers
sat down for a Texas Hold’em fundraiser
tournament to benefit Friends of Designated
Drivers, a non-profit organization.
Barry Matthews of The Right One Baby took
sixth place. Debbie Steele, "Mrs. Mack
Daddy," walked away as the first place
winner of the Texas Hold'em tournament Wednesday
night. She's been playing once a week for
about two years. She and another gentleman
went head to head for more than 45 minutes.
The cards were dealt. Debbie had two aces
in the hole and he raised the blind $10,000. |
She called and the flop was a king. He went
all in and she called. Her aces held up
against his kings. "It was a well-run
tournament and everyone had a good time,"
remarked Mrs. Mack Daddy. The question is,
will luck hold out for team Mack Daddy on
the water over the two days of fishing?
Only time will tell. |
